Fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, and Portuguese, Carlos combines military legal experience with global advisory work to help GLA clients navigate complex international disputes and regulatory challenges.

Carlos A. Calderón is a retired U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC) attorney with extensive experience in military, international, and administrative law. Over a distinguished career, he has served as senior legal advisor to U.S. and allied commands in Europe and Latin America, collaborating with governments, institutions, and multinational partners on matters of international law, ethics, and security cooperation.

At GLA, Carlos leverages his background in cross-border advisory and compliance to represent clients in complex disputes, regulatory investigations, and global risk management. His ability to navigate both U.S. and foreign legal systems makes him uniquely equipped to counsel corporations, executives, and institutions facing international challenges.

Carlos’s last assignment was as Senior General Counsel and Command Judge Advocate at Camp Darby Military Community, Italy, where he advised military units, retirees, and local governments on international law, foreign criminal jurisdiction, and administrative law. He previously served as Chief of Administrative Law at Army Southern Europe Task Force Africa and Assistant General Counsel at U.S. Southern Command, collaborating with Latin American partner nations on rule of law, human rights, and transitional justice programs. His academic contributions include teaching law at the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College (CGSC).
